Best Day of My Life...

I close my eyes and hold my breath in anticipation of what’s to come. In the blink of an eye, in the span of a breath, in the turning of a thought: the Best Day of my Life is near. Take out your best gowns and don’t forget some tissues, it is going to get emotional.

The 12 soon-to-be-graduates of the Design Department are getting ready to head out and their ride is almost there. For two years, they’ve been building toward the best day of their lives…even if none of them quite agree on what that actually means:

the best day of my life was the day I got my passport,

the best day of my life was when I finally learned how to sit right,

the best day of my life was when I found my cassettes,

the best day of my life was when I stayed on my pc,

the best day of my life was when I was still a child,

the best day of my life was when I made soup,

the best day of my life was when I was listening to music,

the best day of my life was when I had a baby,

the best day of my life was when I became a samplefinder,

the best day of my life was when I fell in love with a luser,

the best day of my life was when I became a sound bro,

the best day of my life was when I went sunbathing.

The BEST Design Department is the BEST two-year Master’s program that provides the BEST collaborative environment for the BEST students to develop their BEST projects and practices. The BEST open structure of the BEST curriculum allows the BEST tutors and students to reflect on, and respond to, BEST urgent topics and BEST current discourses. Considering BEST design as the BEST practice of “making BEST things public,” we attend to the BEST politics inherent in BEST design, through actively opening up, sharing, and reviewing BEST design in BEST progress. BEST Modes of BEST expression range from BEST on and offline publications, BEST moving image and BEST sound-based work, BEST network infrastructures, BEST games, BEST performances, BEST writing, BEST educational platforms.
